Swift have rejected claim but as they have accepted the issue of the plug socket not working directly behind the freezer I have asked Rea to review their stance in respect of this issue

Dan called to query current situation with faults on this van. Went through all. Advised in respect of this issue that Swift have initially rejected claim but I am arguing the matter with them. Email just received from Swift asking if this could be patched, Dan believes this will be possible so I will advise Swift accordingly.

Fridge/freezer plug socket has come in to SB and will endeavour to go and fit it next week. I have noted the worksheet for that job to be careful with sharp edge on fridge and also see if they can do anything with it so it can't damage the vinyl floor.

Email received from Rea offering to send some floor wax to fill the scratched. Email sent back to Rea, explaining further damage has been incurred when fridge had to be moved again to fix the socket. Advised her we will try to patch it and find out and resolve cause of damage.

Completed worksheet received - Steve has tried to repair and done best job he can, can still see scratches but lets wait and see if customer is happy with repair. I will close for now and if customer comes back to us we will review then.

As Swift rejected this I have reopened and changed it to GW.
Had a look at the 3B we have here and we will need to purchase enough vinyl to recover the entire kitchen, hall & both bathrooms. Parts enquiry submitted to Swift for advice on how much I will need to order to complete this job.

SS Flooring said as we will supply vinyl they would charge us £300 labour plus diesel. They will come and have a look at the 3 bed Soliel we have in yard next week. Advised the vinyl must be laid in one piece no door strips.

SS Flooring have had a look at the Soliel now and think if will need three men, so £450 plus diesel. They will confirm in due course.

He says this owner is a little unreasonable in her expectations, as he is under the impression that she wants the Vinyl laid from edge to edge under all furniture, toilets, fitted table, kitchen units, etc! I explained how the Swift vans are constructed and therefore not possible to do all that as we would have to deconstruct the entire kitchen, which we will not do. Explained we are doing this at our own expense and the flooring company will do a professional job. He will discuss with owner but asked me to continue as we are unless he contacts us again.

Owner of van a Mr David Perriam called to discuss vinyl damage. He has thought this through and believes that we will not be able to lay the vinyl as it was by the manufacturer. I confirmed we cannot lay it as the manufacturer does and we will cut into the walls, kitchen units etc but will be a professional job. Mr Perriam advised that he is not keen to get into the position where we complete this work, they are not happy and it needs to be done again,etc. He would rather live with it and we give him a discount on the caravan. I asked him what sort of figure he has in mind, he said £5,000. I confirmed I would pass on his request to the Management team and someone will get back to him in due course.
Advised Matt of this conversation, he will discuss with Darren when he is in the office on Thursday. Also emailed details to Darren.

Dan called back, He explained that he would like us to do two things for him. 1) Send him an email giving an overview of our telephone conversation with Mr Perriam and 2) Ask Swift if new vinyl flooring could be ladi as new, if so how much would it cost.

Called Swift and spoke with Paul, explained all and after he spoke with Wes, he advised that it can be done but not as it was done in production. They would take of the end panels in the kitchen to cut the vinyl up close to the carcass of the kitchen unit and then refix the end panel over the top. Paul agreed to put this in an email to me.

Dan at park has forwarded an email he has received from Mrs Perriam - she has shown a very small compromise in respect of having a join in the bathroom. In brief, she has been to a flooring expert who has told her it will not be possible to relay the floor as it was when they bought it new. She says she has sought further advise from her solicitor who has recommended she invite another specialist flooring company in to do a detailed report of exactly what would be required to get the same look and cost before they do anything. She has made an appointment to see him at the end of next week to discuss. She acknowledged our email acknowledging their request to hold off and that we await their further communications.
Email sent to Dan at park thanking him for keeping us in the loop but also enquired if our offer of a cash payment of £500 instead of doing the repair work had been relayed to her?

However the last conversation (Saturday just gone I think it was) Dan advised that he believe the park are going to give Mr & Mrs Perriam their money back and take back the van. Checked with Darren and he advised that we should not carry out any further work until Mr & Mrs Perriams complaint as been resolved. If ownership has reverted back to the park then we can go ahead with their request.

Further email from park saying "Yes we would expect this.. The dispute is still ongoing and Black Horse Finance are saying they may approach Swift to contribute towards costs they are refunding customer, due to the caravan being deemed faulty."

Park have emailed this through and said the new owners no longer want to go ahead with this issue. Closed off and Ade is going to let the floor layer know.
